Quality is key to Pensord Award success

Leading magazine printer Pensord has been awarded the Wales Quality Award for Manufacturing 2011 - the first time a first year entrant has triumphed in the 17 year history of the awards.

Ponllanfraith-based Pensord came out on top in the manufacturing sector in a ceremony held at Cardiff's City Hall. The achievement was based on the submission of an 18,000 word entry that focused on ten aspects of the printer's business - from Leadership and Strategy, to Quality to Customer Satisfaction, all looking at the quality throughout the organisation.

Hunts people-in-print celebrates 50 years by opening Britain's first Print Cafe

On 8 July 2010 Michael Johnson, Chief Executive of the British Printing Industries Federation, launched Hunts' new Print Café, the final part of a £250,000 investment programme carried out over the last 6 months at their Kidlington, Oxfordshire site. Purpose-built, modern, light and airy, with hot and cold drinks and nibbles freely available and a wall-mounted, flat-screen TV, the café is a treat for the firm's many clients.  But it's clear that the Print Café is much more than just an extension to Hunts' public space. It is, in the words of Michael Johnson, representative of 'a new focus' for the business, now entering its 50th year.
