BPIF launch Road Map to becoming COVID-Secure
The COVID-19 outbreak has led to a dramatic change in working practices across Britain, and it's vital that workers' health, safety and livelihoods are protected.
With some businesses reopening, and most others scaling back up their operations in the coming weeks, our BPIF COVID-Secure Road Map sets the steps to take to ensure a safe transition from lockdown, highlighting the key points to consider as our industry moves towards 100% reopening in the aftermath of the pandemic.
There has been a wealth of detailed Government-issued guidance, and our teams have worked tirelessly to clarify and simplify the advice into 8 practical steps to ensure you take into account all new requirements, and to create a trusted and compliant environment.
It's important to note that this is not a short-term crisis and it's likely that COVID-19 will circulate in the human population long-term. It's becoming more apparent that, until we have a more effective treatment or vaccine, social distancing and more regular and enhanced cleaning routines will have to continue for some time.
The BPIF COVID-Secure Road Map takes you through each step of the journey (1-8) in a clear and easy to follow manner, with additional elements within each step - suitable guidance and templates are listed within each step, along with our recommended actions to be taken.
Within this guidance, keep in mind that there is no ‘one size fits all' scenario, and in designing the new workplace layout, it's critical that you continue to focus on;
SAFE AIR - maintain 2 metres distance between individuals where possible to ensure the air flow and distance protects individuals working together.
SAFE SURFACES - increased cleaning regime of high touch points, self-cleaning work areas between shifts and more regular cleaning of general areas will reduce the risk of contamination.
SAFE PEOPLE - as employees return to work, the comfort in knowing they'll be returning to a safe workplace will support their health, wellbeing and engagement.
We encourage members to conduct their own review of their business, working closely with a cross-section of employees, devising a plan to make necessary business changes which will bring confidence to all employees.
Our team are here to help, so please don't hesitate to share your plans with us. We will be setting up virtual bookings shortly, but in the meantime if you require any immediate consultation please email us at [email protected]
