CJRS – tax treatment and clawback by HMRC

The Government has now clarified how it intends to deal with the tax treatment of the various economic support packages that were rolled out to support businesses through the coronavirus crisis.

On the 12 June 2020 the Government closed a two-week consultation into proposed changes to the Finance Bill that will become law in the Finance Act 2020, and is expected to receive the Royal Assent shortly.
