IMRAN HUSSAIN MP VISITS MAJOR BRADFORD PRINTER

IMRAN HUSSAIN MP VISITS MAJOR BRADFORD PRINTER

Imran Hussain, MP for Bradford East, visited leading print packaging company Essentra Packaging in Idle on Friday 19 August. He joined management and staff to tour the site, learning how a modern business works and contributes to both local and national economies.

Essentra specialises in pharmaceutical packaging and employs almost 300 people at its premises on Leeds Road, having been in business in the area for a hundred years.

Imran also met half a dozen apprentices, learning on the job, to discuss entering the printing industry. Other issues discussed were energy price increases, cost of living and improving diversity in the printing industry.

Rachel Mail, Essentra Packaging’s Site Director, said:

"We were delighted to welcome Imran to Essentra Packaging.

"It was a brilliant opportunity to show him how we work, and to discuss how companies like ours – and the print industry as a whole – can be supported by politicians.

"We were able to demonstrate that print is very much a live and kicking industry, making a significant contribution to the UK economy, as well as locally here in Bradford.
