Unable to access the Energy Bill Relief Scheme(EBRS)?

The government recognises that some organisations are unable to access the Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS). This is because the EBRS delivery mechanism requires a licensed supplier in order to apply the discount.

We’re aware that some suppliers operate through licence exemptions, or supply energy to businesses in other non-standard ways. For example, suppliers of major industrial sites or major energy users.

This includes energy supplied:

  • by non-licensed suppliers (this might be purchases of gas direct from refineries, power plants or from the wholesale market)
  • from an Energy from Waste (EfW) production facility via a private wire

If you believe one of these scenarios applies to your organisation or your energy supply chain, we would like to understand your company’s situation.

Please complete the online survey to assist with our evidence on this issue (closing date December 9th).
