Speakers
Changing EU environmental legislation and its impact on packaging producers
Krassimira Kazashka, Technical Director, FEFCO (The European Federation of Corrugated Board Manufacturers), will present the sustainability challenges and opportunities for packaging producers coming from the latest changes in the EU environmental legislation on hot topics like Eco-design for Sustainable Products and Green Claims. She will elaborate on the ongoing review of the Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation, which is setting unprecedented requirements for all packaging and detail the impact on transport packaging. Today, paper and board has many sustainability credentials like renewability and recyclability, and packaging aims to meet the business needs of the customers whilst supporting the EU ambitions. Will this be enough to be considered sustainable in future?
Paper Packaging – The natural and sustainable choice
Jonathan Tame, Managing Director of Two Sides, explains why too often packaging is vilified as wasteful, with organisations increasingly making misleading statements (greenwashing) that our products are bad for the environment. With research and facts Two Sides dispels these myths and reaffirms that paper packaging is the natural and sustainable choice. Together we must inform and reassure consumers of the great sustainable story of our products.
Delivering the truth about paper-based packaging
Two Sides is a global not-for-profit organisation with more than 600 members which promotes the attractiveness and sustainability of paper and paper-based packaging.
