Craftprint founder Jack Tait has died aged 76
Craftprint founder Jack Tait has died aged 76.
Originally from Belfast, Jack came to Bolton 30 years ago "looking for a job" and set up Bolton-based Craftprint in 1980.
Sons Andrew and Martin joined the business in the early 1990s, and are now co-directors of the company.
“He printed in the morning and would then spend the afternoons across town cold calling,” recalled Andrew Tait.
“He was a very well-respected businessman in the Bolton area, sat as Regional Chairman of the BPIF in the early 2000s and supported the local Chamber of Commerce for many years.”
Jack retired in 2005 and is remembered as “Such a positive person in life. He will be greatly missed,” Andrew Tait added.
Outside of work Jack was a keen golfer and gardener. He was also a fan of Bolton Wanderers FC, and loved spending time with his family, especially his seven grandchildren.
He died on 9 August following a short illness.
The funeral will take place at 2pm on Tuesday 29 August, at Overdale Crematorium in Bolton.
