Time to shine! The Printing Charity’s Rising Star Awards 2024 are now open

Time to shine! The Printing Charity’s Rising Star Awards 2024 are now open

The Printing Charity’s Rising Star Awards are open for applications from 29th January. Now in its 15th year, the grant-giving awards (previously known as Print Futures) provide successful applicants with up to £1500 to invest in training and development they know will help in achieving their career goals.

Previous winners have chosen to take advantage of a wide range of diverse courses covering personal development, such as communication, resilience or presentation skills; leadership & management; enhancing core skills; and industry-recognised qualifications from professional bodies.

2023 Awards Alumnus Gabby Solarek, from Eight Days A Week Print Solutions, said: “My award has boosted my confidence, visibility and profile. I couldn’t be happier.”

Jake Ross from Solopress, who was also a winner in 2023, explained: “I now feel armed with an arsenal of tools to sharpen my skills going forward. On top of the award itself, these courses will help build my profile, both now and in the future.”

Printing Charity CEO Neil Lovell commented: “The Rising Star Awards are a flagship programme specifically focussed on emerging young talent in our sector. They offer a fantastic opportunity for us to work with businesses in the industry to support and celebrate the range of exceptional rising stars within it. The range of training our 2023 winners applied for really highlights the diversity of roles in our ever-changing and innovative industry, and shows the potential for a fulfilling career within it for any young person, regardless of their chosen career pathway.”

The Rising Star Awards are open to anyone aged 18-30 working in any job role in the industry sectors the charity supports (print, paper, packaging, graphics and publishing), who knows what they need to advance their career.

The charity encourages potential applicants to speak to their manager, mentor, HR team or a trusted colleague before making an application to help identify skills gaps or personal development goals and what courses will best help to address these.

More information, and from 29th January, the application form, can be found on the Printing Charity’s website. For more information, please e-mail [email protected]. Applications close Friday 5th April.
