MANROLAND ROADSHOW

MANROLAND ROADSHOW

Daniel Godbold, UK Managing Director of Manroland Sheetfed hosted a roadshow on 13 March at Potts Print in Cramlington, inviting partners, current customers and potential customers to hear about what the Manroland Sheetfed team had to offer.

Daniel opened the event by urging printers to take a fresh look at the group’s press offerings, with an exclusive hands-on experience of the latest advancements.  The day was guided by industry experts and german-speaking colleagues who were available throughout, offering valuable insights.

Guests included Linney, Smurfit Westrock, Go Inspire, Manson Group, Harrison Packaging along with companies specialising in pressroom consumables, waste management, all attending to hear the latest from Manroland.

The team showcased the powerful ROLAND 700 Evolution, including their flagship ROLAND 700 Evolution Elite and the ROLAND 700 Evolution Speed, capable of printing at an impressive 20,000 sheets per hour.

Daniel showed his passion of filling the industry with young talent, complimenting the BPIF as the leader in bringing apprentices to the shop floor, he stated ‘Coffee shops and call centres are full of clever people with university degrees that haven’t considered print as an option – we need to do more in bringing young, hungry, clever staff into our businesses.’

Langley Holdings has owned Manroland Sheetfed since 2012, and their chairman Tony Langley told Printweek he expected Manroland Sheetfed to be back in the black next year, ‘We do some pretty clever stuff in all our businesses, but this always blows me away’ he told Printweek, while watching the two Potts Print Manroland 700 Evolution presses running.

Daniel champions the use of paper-based print and packaging, querying why so much packaging is linked to single use plastics, showcasing where brands could do more in switching to paper and board-based alternatives.

Managing Director of Potts Print, Michael Johnson was clearly delighted to host the event, along with the dedication of Podd’s press team popping in on their days leave to see how the event was unravelling.  Potts Print celebrates 150 years in business this year, so this event was great timing in hosting the Manroland tour.
