Melanie Fox receives Kathy Woodward Award for Learning

This year's winner is Melanie Fox, Artwork Supervisor at Multi Packaging Solutions, who has been involved in the printing industry from a young age. She intends to put the prize money towards the purchase of a laptop, which will enable her to complete her studies with the BPIF and further her knowledge of the field at leisure.

Of the Award, Melanie said, "I feel extremely privileged to be recognised as a recipient of the BPIF Kathy Woodward Award, and would like to thank both my BPIF assessor Dominic Wing and my colleagues at the Multi Packaging Solutions Artwork Services department for their continued support and encouragement.

I feel that it's vital that dedication is retained and rewarded within the British manufacturing industries and this award is certainly representative of the efforts of Kathy Woodward and the BPIF in that regard.

I'm extremely lucky to have found my way to a career that I'm passionate about and, with the support of my colleagues at MPS and the BPIF, I look forward to all the developments that the future may bring."

Launched in July 2015, in memory of the BPIF's much loved CEO, Kathy Woodward, who sadly passed away a year previously, the £1,000 Award - sponsored by Webmart - supports individuals in the print, packaging and graphic design industries to further their careers. Applicants were asked to submit a 500-word proposal on how they would spend the money in order to develop their careers.

Melanie's BPIF Assessor, Dominic Wing, was delighted to hear that Melanie had won the Award, "Mel has a great attitude and has always made valuable contributions during training sessions. Having worked with Kathy for more than 12 years, I know she would have been very pleased that a young positive lady, with a great future ahead of her in the Printing Industry, had won her award."

The winner in 2015 was BPIF Level 5 Management Programme Graduate Chris Pinborough, ‎Production Director at Precision Printing, who invested the money in his fees for the BPIF MSc Management course which started in October 2015.
