Park Communications leads with four awards at Apprenticeship Awards
Last week was National Apprenticeship Week and to mark the last day, Newham College held their inaugural Apprenticeship Awards at the Good Hotel London.
The awards were organised to recognise the outstanding achievements of the employers and apprentices enrolled on the apprenticeship programme.
Organiser & Director of Apprenticeships, Neil Coates said:
"We really wanted to say well done to the investment the businesses have put into their apprentices, which we hope will improve the productivity of their organisations."
Close to 100 attended the breakfast award ceremony held in Docklands. A total of 16 awards were given out over a range of categories including areas such as Accounting, Business and Administration, Engineering, Fashion & Textiles,
Park employee, Charlie Pennington, won:
- Business Administration & Customer Service Apprentice of the year 2017
- and the top individual accolade, Newham College Apprentice of the year 2017
- Newham College Grand Apprenticeship of The Year 2017
- and Business Administration & Customer Service Apprentice Employer of the year 2017
Park's support to the programme was recognised with the top business accolade:
About Park, Newham College said:
"Park Communications really invests in apprentice training, bringing in new roles for apprenticeship opportunities. They started with one apprentice on their reception and have grown their offer, providing opportunities for people to progress through the levels with them and into real employment opportunities"
About Charlie, Newham College said:
"Charles is an excellent example to people who are thinking of doing an apprenticeship. His employer has nothing but praise for him. He has been offered a role within Park that will allow him to progress onto a level 3 apprenticeship for which we are sure he will be successful"

hard to ensure that the apprenticeship scheme works well. We are delighted to receive this recognition of their hard work"
Charlie, now a full-time employee, has completed his NVQ Level 2 and is currently working towards level 3. His manager, Roy Bidd, who is training and mentoring Charlie through his apprenticeship, said:
"Charlie created a really good first impression, he is extremely motivated and just gets on with everything thrown at him. He has been a full member of the team since day one and works really hard. I'm very proud, he deserves these awards for all his hard work. The opportunities available to Charlie will mean that one day I hope he will take over my job!"
