Oxuniprint purchase 5 colour Komori Lithrone S29 H-UV

Oxuniprint, the not for profit organisation based in Kidlington is the proud owner of a new 5 colour Komori Lithrone S29 H-UV which has already replaced their old Mitsubishi B2 press.

Ian Wilton OUP's MD said ‘the University's need for quicker turnarounds was the driver for the new machine and the 18 month long investment plan we've been working on to get it. The work for the University has increased over the last year and especially as they use uncoated paper and a corporate blue colour - the drying time and quality needed to reduce to enable us to produce the volume for them. This will clearly be helped by the HUV as we'll be able to finish immediately it comes off the press and will increase capacity by around 50% almost straight away and reduce lead times too.

‘We want to invest further', he added, ‘but will review all areas first before deciding where as sales are likely to increase also which will have an impact, along with the extra capacity. "We want to service our customers as best we can and if we feel we need more equipment to do that we try to invest in exactly what we need.'

We are a team of 25 here in Kidlington with another 4 at Oxford University Press copy shop and have a turnover of circa £3m - which we hope to increase this year. OUP is our largest customer by far but we have other commercial work too.
