BPIF triumph at Trade Association Forum Awards for second year
The BPIF are delighted to have received two prestigious awards at the 2017 Trade Association Forum Best Practice Awards held on 12 July at Drapers' Hall in London. Following their success with Event of the Year at the 2016 Awards, the BPIF marketing team were elated to collect the prizes for Publication of the Year for their 'Book of the Night' for the 2016 British Book Design and Production Awards; and Website of the Year for the BPIF's new site which was launched in March 2016. The BPIF were also highly commended for Conference of the Year for the Leaders of the Future event ran in conjunction with their partner, the British Office Supplies and Services (BOSS) Federation.
The Awards recognise, reward and promote best practice amongst Trade Associations in the UK and are a chance for TAF members to showcase their hard work and achievements during the last twelve to eighteen months.
The British Book Design & Production Awards (BBD&PAs) Book of the Night celebrates the finalists from the 2016 Awards. It is multi-purpose - it beautifully displays the best in the industry, it provides guests with a tangible book, it celebrates the skills of the printers, finishers, paper suppliers and pop-up designers, and it serves as a promotional tool for the finalists, winners, the industry and the Awards themselves. The Book of the Night also aims to reflect trends within these industries and to showcase new techniques and processes. The publication is a book of contrasts which mixes traditional techniques with new ones, the bold with the understated and detailed craftsmanship with high technology. The book was kindly printed by Boss Print, paper was supplied by Fedrigoni, and it was designed by thePAGEDESIGN.
The BPIF's website (www.britishprint.com) is a crucial communication tool to ensure that both members and non-members are aware of their products, services and activities and positions the BPIF as a strong brand, reflecting the image of a forward-thinking and proactive membership organisation. The new fully responsive website was launched in 2016 and gained excellent feedback from the outset. A number of new features including an HR and H&S section providing templates and guidance documents and a virtual learning environment meant that the BPIF's website fully achieved its objectives and delivered a communications channel which should benefit the BPIF and its members for many years to come.
BPIF Marketing Director, Amy Hutchinson, commented, "We are delighted to have achieved these two awards. The team have put an enormous amount of effort into creating a website which better serves our members, allowing them to access the information they need in an easy and appealing way. In addition, our Book of the Night for the British Book Design and Production Awards is a result of the team's innovative thinking - bringing their creativity to highlight the winners of our awards. We are thrilled that these two projects have now been recognised by TAF too!"
Charles Jarrold, BPIF Chief Executive, said, "These two awards are brilliant recognition of the skills and hard work by the BPIF team. The British Book Design and Production Awards goes from strength to strength, and the Book of the Night aims to showcase and reflect all that's so fantastic in that sector. The BPIF website was certainly due a comprehensive re-work, and a new, infinitely better site has been created from the ground up - this took a massive effort by everyone, creating a site that everyone is very pleased with, and which can continue to evolve to meet future needs. I was delighted to see the team win in these two categories, and then be highly commended in another - a great evening."
