KEP Print Group investment and growth plans
Over the past couple of years, the Tamworth based commercial and POS printer, KEP Print Group has invested further with not only large format die stamping, a Bickers Gluejet, a new press and more recently in a boost to the finishing department a Lamina Blackline high speed sheet to sheet laminator to assist with their growth plans for the end of the year.
This will also enable the company to recruit further staff to support this investment and growth strategy. KEP produces a range of commercial, POS and high-end corporate retail packaging work out of over 10 units at its site in Two Gates.
Managing director Mark Plowman said the purchase of this "all-singing, all-dancing" laminator was necessary in order to relieve bottlenecks. The new machine is in operation for a single shift per day, compared with the older Lamina that was running on two.
"We looked at a number of different machines and this one was, we felt, the most flexible for our needs. It was the pile height that it gave us that swung it because we can put full pallets in it, this and the fact that it's able to do edge-to-edge. The speed of operation and the quality it gives you is great."
Dawn Reid, the BPIF Regional Director said, ‘this is great news, not only is there continued investment but we're also trying to assist with the placement of new staff within the Group and the training of some of its existing ones. All good news in our book!'
