FEE FIE FOE FUM! BPIF launch new Health and Safety Resources
The BPIF have launched a new set of quirky posters for members to download for free online.
The posters - designed to be a fun and eye catching way of engaging staff with health and safety regulations - cover factory, warehouse and general office safety, and include areas such as slips and trips, COSHH guidelines, forklift truck and racking handling, electrocution risks and lifting techniques.
Each poster, which carries the strapline ‘Stop. Think. Act. Your Safety Is Our Priority', has a space for members to add their own logo and can be printed to whatever size you require, and as many times as needed by members.
BPIF Head of Health, Safety & Environment, Mandy Robson said, "Safety is a common theme in all that we do within our working lives, but people get stuck in their ways. Habit is human nature, but it's not always good and certainly not always safe.
"It's easy to think that educating people in health and safety procedures is a boring necessity, but whilst it's a necessity it certainly doesn't have to be boring!'
"'The idea behind these posters, as well as encouraging a smile, is to change the mindset of staff by thinking differently, whilst passing key messages to them to take notice of vital regulations that they may have become over-familiar with.
"If you've had the same posters in your workplace for a while, then keeping it fresh is key - so I'd encourage all our members to take advantage of this free resource!"
As well as this, the BPIF have also launched ‘Toolbox Talks', giving companies tips on how to maintain a regular dialogue with teams about health and safety issues.
