Henry Ling invests
Longstanding journal and book printer and BPIF member Henry Ling, based in Dorchester, has invested in a new Speedmaster and retrofitting to its existing Speedmaster with LE-UV drying capabilities to upgrade their Litho department and increase the high end offering to its customer base - which include international publishers and art galleries. It will also enable their cover work and foil cover work to be done with shorter turnaround times whilst maintaining their quality.
Helen Kennet, the company's Managing Director, said the changes would increase efficiencies and improve make ready times. "This is very much an updated machine but obviously there is still enough Litho work for us to make us feel we can make the investment" she said. "We did look at another leading manufacturer very closely, both for LE-UV as well as for the new machine, but in the end we stayed with Heidelberg and that's down to the fact that we decided to upgrade. This also gives us improved colour control as a benefit of the new machine, which can print at increased speeds too."
Dawn Reid, Regional Director for the BPIF, added, "Henry Ling has been in existence for well over a century and its continued investment is part of the reason for their longstanding status. This is great news for the team and I look forward to seeing the new equipment during my next visit."
