BPIF and their members showcase the industry to 400 students at Apprentice18
Apprentice18 organised by Stationers in collaboration with Ravensbourne College intended to highlight to students the wealth of apprenticeships available. Held on the 27 June around 400 students were welcomed by over 30 employers from a wide range of sectors, including print. The BPIF hosted a specific Print Space, themed ‘The biggest industry you never thought of' in which member companies were invited to come and speak to the students about specific opportunities at their businesses or promote the industry as a whole. Boss Print, DG3, Pureprint, Precision Printing and Romax engaged students throughout the day answering their many questions and highlighting the variety of careers print has to offer. In addition it was great to see companies such as Paragon and FE Burman also at the event.
BPIF Chief Executive Charles Jarrold said, "Engaging with schools is a very big deal for us and it is crucial that we show students the scope and variety of the print industry. It has been six months in the making with Helen at Stationers' as the driving force behind it.
"I have been very encouraged to see so many students interested in the possible apprenticeships offered by our selection of printers – we have a real variety."
