New investment boosts capacity at Foil Ribbon and Impact Printing

New investment boosts capacity at Foil Ribbon and Impact Printing

Foil Ribbon and Impact Printing (FRIP) based in Hinckley which specialises in decorative print finishing and lamination for packaging are boosting their capacity by 40% with a £550,000 investment in new foiling and embossing capability with a Brausse Signa. The machine was chosen because of its increased sheet length capability - their existing Bobst machine has been refurbished to fulfil a need at their Greater Manchester site - which is the combination aiding the capacity increase.

Group Managing Director Leslie Gibson, who is the BPIF Regional Board Chair for the Midlands stated, "Having decided we needed an extra foiling machine, we were receiving enough demand to justify increasing capacity on both our sites. Increasing our capacity means we can improve productivity per operator and meet the needs of our customers better, this is what was driving us as we know there is a skill shortage and it's much harder to train new staff in these skills. It runs with a fast start system that allows for foiling without waiting for impression and quick changeover times. It will also allow the Hinckley site to free up capacity on its Bobst stamper too.

Dawn Reid, Regional Director for the BPIF added, "This is great news for FRIP, the company has around 75 people across all 5 of its sites, the additional ones being in Redditch which I had the pleasure of visiting not long ago with Glasgow and Surrey as well... We've been helping the team with some training too."
