Look out for the BPIF's Brexit Bulletin – coming soon!
We'll be bringing you all the latest Brexit news relevant to our industry in a monthly round-up newsletter. We'll be reporting back on our engagement with Government and Parliament, as well as making sense of the latest announcements.
Where we can, we'll be sharing with you any action you could be taking to get ready for Britain leaving the EU. Of course, we'll be asking you what your main concerns are and how you might already be preparing for the future beyond March 2019.
In short, the Brexit Bulletin will be your one-stop-shop for understanding how leaving the EU will affect your business, supported by a dedicated section of the BPIF website.
Your voice on Brexit
Both before and after the referendum in 2016, the BPIF's been gauging your views on Brexit and reporting these back to Government. We've monitored the printing industry's confidence using our Brexit Barometer and we've communicated to Government exactly what the print industry's priorities are for Brexit.
Why does Brexit matter?
Printed material contributed £775 million to the UK's balance of trade in 2016. Approximately 50% of exports are to the EU - £1.4bn of £2.9bn. 35% of imports are from the EU - £0.8bn of £2.2bn. Almost all of the positive trade balance is a result of EU trade. Added to this will be the impact of potential supply delays at customs, the changing status of EU workers and a possible reduction in the UK investment by foreign companies.
