Impeccable Health and Safety results in 100% Seal of Excellence score for Precision Printing North
Since last year the team led by Louise Stephenson, General Manager, have embarked on a programme to ensure best in class for their health and safety on-site with support from the BPIF. Precision's management and employees have come together to focus a great deal of time and effort into improving all aspects of the business, but in particular health and safety, for which they now have a dedicated training room for on-site.
To aid the process Louise called in the BPIF's Health & Safety Adviser Phil Ashcroft to conduct a Health & Safety Healthcheck of Precision Printing North, which provided an independent review of their health and safety, in the form of a gap analysis report.
A site tour was also conducted of the work environment and a series of specific detailed questions about current practices and topics were asked. Covering the areas of:
Arrangements and Management of Health & Safety
Control of Machinery and Equipment Hazards
Slips and Trips, Working at Height, Noise Monitoring
Workplace Transport, Traffic Routes
COSHH and Skin Care
Lifting and Handling, Upper Limb Disorder and more
Immediate feedback and recommendations were taken on board by the team, and Phil worked closely in supporting them on-site further with risk assessments, inspections, documentation and further reviews. This then led to a later, more formal review, in the form of a BPIF Health & Safety Seal of Excellence focusing on the end to end audit trail. This resulted in an impressive result of 100%, which was a huge transition. A clear indication that all the hard work has paid off, and credit is certainly due to Louise who has made a clear impact and led the team wonderfully.
Regional Director, Darren Shepherd, who presented the Health & Safety Seal of Excellence to Louise stated, "The score of 100% on Precision Printing North's H&S Seal of Excellence is an incredible achievement. To demonstrate processes that impeccable, shows the true dedication of the management and their teams. Congratulations Precision Printing North."
CEO, Gary Peeling stated, "Louise and the team have done an outstanding job with this project, the goal from the outset of the project was to achieve a best in class result and progress the already high standards at the site. The excellent input from Phil the BPIF Health & Safety Adviser proved extremely valuable as always."
