Pride, passion and printing
This mantra is the title of the new book on ‘The Life and Time of Percy Lund Humphries' by Charles Lubelski.
The Bradford printing company, Percy Lund Humphries is suggested by the author as ‘one of the world's greatest printing companies, playing a central role in the development of fine art printing and cutting edge printing technologies in the 20th century. The book, which would be of interest to anyone who has a passion for print, logs the growth and development of enterprise and enthusiasm in the family business which led to innovation and excellence. However the books also documents the demise through compounded business decisions, market factors and a perfect storm felt by many during the economic crisis from 2007.
Brian Tempst former Sales Director for the company, still displays the mantra of pride, passion and printing and exudes psychological capital and knows that many great businesses are built on loyalty and dedication, because the people within fell they have meaning and purpose. He comments, "I know loyalty, dedication, teamwork, friendship, knowledge, culture and many other attributes were the key to Percy Lund Humphries success over their 100 year history."
The book provides a fascinating insider perspective of this living piece of history. As well as a unique insight into print's power and position and many values that are still relevant in today's market, especially in ensuring a positive aspirational business culture.
