Double celebration for Mercia Image Print
Amanda Strong, who heads up Mercia Image Print, based in Little Eaton in Derby has been awarded The Derby Telegraph 'Entrepreneur of the Year Award' in the same month as meeting the company target for their recent fund raising initiative. Amanda, who beat a number of local business people, was presented with her gong at Derby College on 5 June. She then topped the month by hitting the £30,000 mark for Mercia's '30 Days of Giving' campaign, raising money for 30 charities during the month of June to celebrate the company's 30th birthday.
Amanda said, "It's amazing to have both accolades! The support we've had from the Derby business community has been awesome. Derby really does have an incredibly supportive business community and I am so proud that Mercia Image Print has been part of this for 30 years. I'm also thrilled that we have raised so much money for such amazing charities. We were assisted in reaching our target following a donation from a local businessman, Pete Ellse from Cosy Direct (and Cosy Foundation) - a Derby entrepreneur.
Dawn Reid, Regional Director for the BPIF added, "It's great for Amanda to not only receive a personal accolade by way of the award but also to have completed the 30 days campaign so successfully too is perfect timing, the team should all be proud of all their effort and hard work."
