BPIF Specialist Services - Spring/Summer 2019 Trends

BPIF Specialist Services - Spring/Summer 2019 Trends

In light of Brexit and whatever the outcome of that will be, the printing industry appears to be preparing their businesses and requesting support services that align with possible post-Brexit contingency plans. BPIF Specialist Services provides business support services to the industry, here is what support was trending in Spring/Summer 2019

ISO Standards

From July the industry has been increasingly requesting support with ISO 9001, 14001 and 27001 and stated it to help them become more process driven and compliant. However they are also integrating these standard into their business to help them grow their business, retain and gain clients. We think this support requirement will continue into autumn and winter.

Health & Safety Training

Business are always seeking health and safety training courses, predominantly First Aid and Manual Handling. I think this is due to them being more considerate of employees needs post mental health awareness at work and they are also more aware of compliance requirements.

Also the HSE make the following statements - According to the HSE the most common type of accident is manual handling (27%).

Health & Safety Management Scheme

For many members a Health & Safety Management Scheme a year round requirement which is renewed every year. The scheme addresses your company’s individual needs. First, a healthcheck is conducted that benchmarks your procedures against legislative requirements and best practice. Next, recommendations are made for improvements. Finally, an individually designed, fully managed solution is provided to help you implement these recommendations within two year. The implementation of your health & safety requirements is taken care of by a BPIF H&S expert and adviser.

Occupational Health Surveillance and Screening

Following the integration of mental health awareness within the workplace businesses are considering their employees’ health more and more. Businesses are realising that promoting and maintaining good health policies and practices in the workplace can set you apart from your competition as it helps retain staff, reduce sickness levels and improve productivity - and more importantly - profitability.
