Printing company receives royal visit
Britain's Bravest Manufacturing Company's printing and mailing house is a printer like no other, and as part of Royal British Legion Industries it is celebrating the organisation's 100-year anniversary.
As well as a first class service providing print on anything from a business card to a motorway gantry sign, all profits made by this unique organisation are used to support beneficiaries throughout the UK, including not just veterans and ex-forces but also disabled adults.
Some of the projects Britain's Bravest Manufacturing Company's work contributes to were recently showcased to a very special visitor.
On Wednesday 6 November 2019, Royal British Legion Industries welcomed Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II to the Royal British Legion Village in Kent as part of their centenary celebrations. The Queen toured the village and met staff, veterans and their families. Her Majesty was there to officially open the village's new care facility, Appleton Lodge, named after First World War frontline nurse Edith Appleton. The Queen also buried a time capsule to be opened in 100 years' time by future residents. She enclosed a letter in the capsule saying: 'I wish to congratulate Royal British Legion Industries on their centenary and their support of veterans over the past 100 years.
The new care facility forms part of a £22 million Centenary Village development by RBLI, which will provide modern homes and support for veterans into the next century. The Queen saw the completed first phase of the development, which includes 24 specially-adapted flats for wounded former military personnel.
