Orchard Press launch ‘Orchard Rainbow’
Orchard Press, based in Tewkesbury have just launched a new product offering 'Orchard Rainbow'. The majority of print production at Orchard is B1 litho, CMYK using hybrid screening for high quality print to meet their customer's specs whereas Orchard Rainbow is targeted at high-end clients such as design agencies, art galleries and car manufacturers.
The software is used on a 10-colour Heidelberg XL 106, which adds green, orange and violet spot colours to seven CMYK shades to offer exceptional stand-out quality.
Adrian Williams, Managing Director adds, "I wanted to add value back into to print and create something very different. Conventional CMYK tends to take colour out, whereas Orchard Rainbow puts it back into the job. Why use a 10-colour press to produce commodity print when you can produce something so much better and vivid? Orchard Rainbow has to be seen to be believed, vibrant, high-impact images using a combination of hybrid and stochastic screening enables print to spring off the page."
The technology offers high colour saturation, contrast, luminance and purity. The new service is not used for Pantone colours but to enhance process colour work.
Dawn Reid, BPIF Regional Director for the area added, "Orchard Press doesn't stand still and is always looking at innovative new ways to improve service and quality and really push the boundaries, especially now as many people see print as a mere commodity, this is a great addition to their portfolio."
