Manufacturing Forum – provides insight on managing change

On 22nd November, members attending the BPIF's Manufacturing Forum at St. Bride's enjoyed presentations from Garry Mellor, BPIF Process Improvement Engineer, Matthew Peacock, Productivity Director, Active Data Metrics, and John Cadman, BPIF HR Adviser in the South Eastern region, as well as discussing and debating the issues surrounding the management of change.

While Garry focussed on the process and psychology of change and Matthew presented a member case study where leading change allowed them to improve their businesses productivity with Industry 4.0 technology, John explored the HR implications of change – namely, the main areas of change affecting employees; how members could enact change while staying within the law; and practical solutions in respect of employee engagement and employee wellbeing.

In this time of economic uncertainty and political upheaval, many members are currently facing change management issues which may include some or any of the following: expansion or reduction of staff; mergers and acquisitions; Transfer of Undertakings (TUPE); changes to terms and conditions of employment; relocation; and shifts changes. For HR support in any of these areas, or indeed for advice/visits on any aspect of HR, please just contact John Cadman on 07718-520257 / [email protected] or Nadia Providence on 07834-216204 / [email protected] or Olivia Martin at [email protected] and they will be delighted to assist.
