What is the Withdawal Agreement?

The Withdrawal Agreement ensures that the United Kingdom (UK) leave the European Union (EU) in an orderly manner.

The agreement brings legal certainty where the UK's withdrawal from the EU created uncertainty:

  • Citizens' rights
  • The financial settelment
  • A transition period of at least until the end of 2020
  • Governance
  • Protocols on Ireland/Northern Ireland, Gibraltar and Cyprus
  • Other separation issues.
