Are you compliant with environmental requirements?

Are you compliant with environmental requirements?

Are you managing the environmental requirements within your business sufficiently?

The BPIF Environmental Healthcheck is a quick, easy and [for Platinum members] free, review of your current processes, that gives you a clear work-to list of actions to improve, where gaps have been identified.

If you answer NO to any of the following questions, then consideration should be given to the enviromental compliance within your business.

The healthcheck is delivered in half a day starting with a site tour of the premises to assess the layout of the organisation and familiarise themselves, with the organisation’s processes. The adviser will take you through a series of specific detailed questions about current practice on topics such as: Internal Communications, Training, Emissions to Air, Discharges to Water, Waste, Producer Responsibility, Resource Efficiency, etc. The questions are based on the legal requirements and best practice for the printing industry. After this a review of specific documentation will take place. A detailed report will be sent to you highlighting any issues that have been identified and need addressing. It will also provide you with information on how to tackle these non-conformities.

What Is Involved

·         In-depth review of relevant legislation compliance

·         Identification of shortfalls against recognised good practices within the industry

·         Clear report advising of corrective actions

·         Guidance documents and forms, free to Platinum members

·         Focused on print specific environmental problems

You’ll be more than aware, that clients have the expectation that you will have sound environmental policies in place. Therefore aside from understanding the growing legal requirements which would be highlighted in a healthcheck (allowing you to understand where improvements are required). More print buyers are looking for accreditations such as Chain of Custody FSC, or PEFC, plus demonstrating your green credentials which all help to retain customers, gain new customers and attract the best people to work with.

BPIF environmental experts will provide all the support you need to implement the processes and practices necessary to reach one or more Environmental Standards – the best way of underlining your commitment in this area.

We will review your existing systems, then design and put in place an Environmental Management System (EMS) tailored to your needs. Your EMS will support you to meet the requirements of BS8555 or ISO 14001 without disrupting your daily work. We can also help you achieve Chain of Custody cortication.
