Inprint Issue 57
March/April 2019

As we go to press, there are only about four weeks before the UK is scheduled to leave the EU. Our Printing Outlook survey last month unveiled that Brexit is now members’ second biggest business concern, following competitor pricing. Pages 7, 20 and 21 tackle various issues such as EU citizens in UK employment, supply chain continuity, currency uncertainty and customs paperwork support. We are constantly striving to keep you informed, and will continue to do so on the BPIF website, where you’ll find the most up-to-date resources on everything Brexit, as well as our monthly Brexit Bulletins for the latest information.

As National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) approaches, we celebrate all things apprenticeships. On pages 16 and 17, we look at what we’ve done and what we’re planning to do to support apprentices in print.

Pages 18 and 19 are devoted to our Visual Media Conference (VMC), a free to attend one-day event that returns this year to explore how businesses can be truly sustainable in all areas by having an innovative and creative mind-set. We're delighted to have speakers from Channel 4, Newsworks, Nestlé, The Retail Institute, HP and ProCo who will be sharing truly inspiring insights, real world experience and best practice.

Finally, entries to the 2019 British Book Design and Production Awards (BBD&PA) will open on 12 March (page 29). As one of the most prestigious and popular literary events of the year, it’s time to start thinking about which of the 18 exciting categories you can enter today!
