Sexual Harassment – 'Preventative Duty’
The Worker Protection Act 2023 (Amendment of the Equality Act 2010), is UK legislation designed to enhance protections against workplace sexual harassment.
This Act introduces a new legal duty for employers, as of 26 October 2024, known as 'Preventative Duty,' which requires them to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment of their employees. This includes harassment between workers and harassment by third parties such as customers, clients, or visitors.
