Is your company looking to achieve certification for the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) Chain of Custody standard?

What is the FSC standard?
Professional buyers and consumers are increasingly conscious of the impacts of their buying decisions. As an international non-governmental organisation, the Forest Stewardship Council is dedicated to promoting responsible management of the world's forests. In addition to forest certification, FSC systems includes a certified Chain of Custody (COC) that tracks the timber through every stage in the supply chain from the forest to the final user. This is monitored and controlled throughout the process from the tree through to the finished product. Doing so provides real assurance to the buyer or end user, the product has been sourced responsibly and assured to be, what it says it is. To achieve the standard and be able to certify and sell materials or products as FSC, very specific requirements have to be met and then reviewed and assessed by an accredited external certification body. Companies who achieve the standard can demonstrate compliance with the FSC standard and as a result able to tender for a wider range of sales opportunities.

A BPIF Specialist Services expert can help your company meet the requirements for FSC, providing experienced and knowledgeable support to help you achieve certification.
